Preview of Star Trek: Discovery Soundtrack
Star Trek: Discovery has a soundtrack coming out right around the corner and Lakeshore Records has released an exclusive preview.
The soundtrack will contain twenty-one tracks from the show’s earliest episodes.
In a statement, Discovery producer Alex Kurtzman said the following about Russo’s score:
“Grand, glorious, hopeful, heartbreaking, intimate, bittersweet, tense, soaring, surprising. Over 51 years, in its many iterations, there’s been no shortage of adjectives to describe the music of Star Trek. On the other hand, the list of composers capable of capturing them all is short, and this is where Jeff Russo comes in. Jeff manages to hold each note in beautiful balance, evoking the nostalgia of Alexander Courage’s original theme while scoring Discovery with his own unique ear and heart. We’re lucky to have him, and we hope you’ll love his music as much as we do.”
The soundtrack will be available digitally December 15.

Star Trek: Discovery Season 2 Character Posters
New character posters have been released for the second season of Star Trek: Discovery.
The new posters have a sleek black and white design, one each for Michael Burnham (Sonequa Martin-Green), Captain Gabriel Lorca (Jason Isaacs), Lt. Saru (Doug Jones), and Voq (Javid Iqbal…maybe).
Each poster also contains the tagline “Discover the Unknown,” which is a reference to the midseason finale, in which the USS Discovery jumped into uncharted space. The fact that each character has their back turned in their poster may also be a tease for the upcoming mirror universe episodes.

Talent involved:
Behind the camera:
The show was created by Bryan Fuller and Alex Kurtzman who are producing alongside Akiva Goldsman, while Gretchen J. Berg and Aaron Harberts act as showrunners.

- James Frain as Sarek: A younger version of Spock’s biological father and Michael’s stand-in father, previously portrayed by Mark Lenard.
- Shazad Latif as Ash Tyler: Described by Latif as “a very complex and painful and deep character.” Ash is a Starfleet lieutenant and former prisoner of war.
- Doug Jones as Saru: The first Kelpien (species created for the show) in the Starfleet, Saru is a lieutenant aboard the Discovery.
- Michelle Yeoh as Philippa Georgiou: Captain og the Shenzhou who maintains a close relationship with Michael.

Release:
Star Trek: Discovery will air its first two episodes on CBS September 24. After that, the show will run on CBS All Access in the U.S. and on Netflix for the rest of the world.
