Alright, time for Episode 11. After the last episode ended with someone clubbed to death, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?

Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
We start the episode with Jessica (Krysten Ritter), freaking out about what she has done. With the guard named Dale dead at her feet, she was to think of something fast. She cleans up the body and all the blood while wiping her fingerprints from everything. She decides to make it look like Dale had committed suicide by jumping from the roof. Meanwhile, Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer), wakes up to find a new guard assigned to her and she gives Alisa her breakfast. Before Alisa eats, she asks to make a phone call to Jessica. Alisa calls Jessica when she gets back to Alias and the two of them talk about what happened. Alisa tells Jessica that she is proud of her and that she needs to watch out. Jessica is now being tormented by Kilgrave (David Tennant) for her actions and what she did. Jessica decides to take a shower and once she is finished, she finds an envelope under her door. It’s from Oscar (J.R. Ramirez), which contains all the papers and the passport that Dr. Karl (Callum Keith Rennie), needs to escape. She takes the envelope to the hotel and finds that Karl is missing. Vision Kilgrave (That’s what I’m going to call him), starts to talk to her and bug her. Jessica looks around to room for clues with Vision Kilgrave talking and trying to manipulate Jessica. She finds that Karl’s stuff is still there, including his room key and thinks that Karl was kidnapped. Meanwhile, Jessica goes to the prison to visit her mother and hears the other guards talk about what happened to Dale. Alisa is able to get the visitation room to herself and Jessica so they can talk about Dale. Jessica tells Alisa that Karl is missing and Alisa thinks that Trish (Rachel Taylor), took him (She isn’t wrong about that). Jessica tells her it wasn’t Trish and that she will find Karl. Jessica leaves the prison and Vision Kilgrave starts to sing “I Want Your Cray Cray”, while Jessica is trying to call Trish and find her. Trish doesn’t answer and Jessica yells at Vision Kilgrave to get out of her head. Meanwhile, Jessica makes it back to her apartment with Vision Kilgrave sitting in Jessica’s chair and talking to her about how she has killed three people now and she should own the fact that Dale is dead. Jessica finds that someone used her computer (Trish and Malcolm), she walks down the hall and kicks down Malcolm’s (Eka Darville), door. She doesn’t find anyone home but she finds Malcolm’s laptop and does some snooping of her own. She finds the dating website that Malcolm has been using for his hookups and tries to use the distance of some women to try and get a location on him.
We then cut to Trish with Karl at a storage facility where Karl grabs a box with his research in it. Trish has Karl at gunpoint and she starts to insult him when he asks her about the gun. They get in the car after a lady comes across them and wants a photo of Trish, Trish refuses and drives off. Meanwhile, Jessica is going through Malcolm’s Teaser account and calling all the ladies that Malcolm has messaged and is able to get a location on him. Meanwhile, Malcolm finally frees himself from the trunk and finds himself in a parking garage with Trish and Karl coming back from a store. Malcolm starts to yell at Trish with Trish pointing her gun at Malcolm and firing a warning shot. Jessica finds everyone in the parking garage with Trish driving off with Karl. Meanwhile, Alisa is pacing around her cell when she sees her guard watching a documentary on the Marinas Trench (Not the band). This causes her to relive a memory with her and Karl on a beach talking to each other about Karl wanting to close down the clinic and get a place by the ocean, just the two of them. Meanwhile, Jessica and Malcolm are walking down the street with Jessica yelling at Malcolm about how he was blinded and used by Trish. Malcolm wants to help Jessica but she doesn’t want his help and Malcolm tries to find out what store Trish went too. Jessica is being tormented by Vision Kilgrave with dual thoughts about Malcolm and Trish. Before she can snap, Malcolm finds the place that Trish went too, a Veterinary. They go inside and interrogate the employee working there about what Trish bought. The employee tells them some ingredients that Trish bought and Jessica is able to figure out that Trish doesn’t want to recreate the Inhaler, she wants something more powerful. Meanwhile, Trish and Karl are back at IGH with Karl setting up the same equipment he used on Jessica and Alisa to give Trish the same or different powers as them. Trish wants to be like Jessica and doesn’t want to feel powerless anymore. Meanwhile, Jessica and Malcolm and walking down the street and Vision Kilgrave is finally able to really get inside Jessica’s head and starts to manipulate her into choking someone who looks like him but is a random guy on the street. Malcolm is able to snap Jessica out of it and stays behind to talk with the guy so she can go to IGH. Meanwhile, Karl is operating on Trish and letting the machine does it’s work when it starts to backfire and looks to be killing Trish. Jessica makes it in time to stop the machine and Karl and almost kills Karl with Vision Kilgrave telling her too and she doesn’t. Karl finally accepts his fate and tells Jessica to grab Trish and run while he grabs her gun and destroys IGH. Meanwhile, Jessica is able to get Trish to a hospital and Malcolm meets Jessica there. The two of them get into an argument about Trish and what Malcolm did with Jessica firing Malcolm.
Later on, Jessica is sitting in the hospital waiting room late at night when Vision Kilgrave comes back to talk to her. Vision Kilgrave talks to her about Trish and what she did to Malcolm with Jessica finally accepting that she isn’t a killer like Kilgrave. Meanwhile, Alisa is watching the news from her cell when she sees that Karl has been found dead at IGH and she loses control, throws her guard at the wall and escapes her cell.
Wow, I think I may have to call this the Vision Kilgrave episode. I knew that Kilgrave would be back during Season 2 but it was so good to have him back. David Tennant steals the show whenever he is on screen and it makes me miss him all the more. I really hope that in a future season, Kilgrave will come back again and not just as a vision this time.
We finally got to learn what Trish really wanted out of the whole IGH event and kidnapping Dr. Karl. She wanted to get her own superpowers like Jessica! Well, clearly Trish did get her powers right away and she almost dies in the process. Let’s hope that if she does it powers, Jessica is able to give her the greatest piece of advice for a superhero to know.
With Karl being dead, it throws a wrench into everything now and Alisa is now going to be out for blood. I can’t wait to see what Alisa will do in these last 2 episodes of the season. This episode was a damn good time and it was the episode this season needed to really kick things into overdrive and now we will get to see the carnage unfold.
I feel really bad for Malcolm, all he wanted to do was help out his friends and what did he get in return? Manipulated, Knocked out and thrown into a trunk, shoot at, yelled at and also lost his job. I have really been liking Malcolm this whole season and I really hope that what has happened to him this episode doesn’t turn him into a villain.
The Verdict:
AKA Three Lives and Counting has become my favourite episode of the season. David Tennant back as Kilgrave really helped make this more enjoyable. Also, we finally got to find out Trish’s intentions with IGH and Karl, I’m glad she didn’t get powers right away and now she is taken off the board. I do feel sorry for Malcolm because he was just trying to help and everyone has just stepped all over him. With only 2 episodes left, there is no telling what type of Carnage that Alisa and Jessica cam make now that s**t has hit the fan.

REVIEW: Jessica Jones Season 2 Episode 10
Alright, time for Episode 10. After the last episode dealt with more than one families drama, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
We start the episode with Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer), walking down the prison in chains with a lot of guards around her. She goes to the visiting centre where Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter) and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), are waiting there for her. Jeri is going to be Alisa’s lawyer and she tells her that they can get her what she needs, keep it inside the prison and set up visitation. All of that and more if she tells the officers everything about Dr. Karl, IGH and what they did to hear. Meanwhile, Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor), is doing a practice run of her new show, she doesn’t do well during the performance and she gets a pep-talk from Ronald saying that she needs to talk about her life and all the issues she had so she can stand out. Meanwhile, Jessica tries to get Alisa to say something and take the deal but she refuses and won’t give up anything. This leads Jessica and Jeri to leave and consider their options. Jessica get’s a call from Trish and she tells Jessica that she did go off the deep end with the Inhaler but now she is clean and the guys at CCN got a tip about Alisa and her story. Trish, Jessica and Malcolm (Eka Darville), all meet back up at Alias and talk about the current situation that they have on their hands. Malcolm get’s angry at Jessica for not telling him about her mother and storms off in anger. Trish finally tells Jessica about the Inhaler and Trish tells Jessica that she wants to do the IGH story but leave her mother out of because Jessica doesn’t want the blowback. Trish leaves Alias and goes to check on Malcolm and he comes clean about what happened between them. Malcolm tells Trish that he wants her but is afraid that she is too damaged and doesn’t want to be with someone whose soul is damaged by everything that happened.
We cut to later on that night, Jessica gets a call from Oscar (J.R. Ramirez). Oscar talks about how he would see his kid on the first Saturday of every month and that Jessica will be ok. However, Jessica tells Oscar that she won’t get to see her mother because she will be sent off to a Guantanamo like prison where she will never be seen again. This causes Jessica to want to go out but is stopped by Oscar at the elevator. The couple hug it out and this leads to them sleeping together. Meanwhile, Trish goes to a doctors office and tries to get a list of ingredients for the Inhaler. The nurse tells her that the drugs in the Inhaler can’t be replicated and most of the ingredients are illegal. Meanwhile, Jeri is in the bathroom when she get’s a knock on the door. It’s Jessica, she askes Jeri if she can delay the prison transfer for her mother, saying that she can get Dr. Karl and get him to confess. Before Jeri gives Jessica an answer, Jeri introduces Shane (Eden Marryshow), the person with the healing powers who healed Inez Green (Leah Gibson). Jeri wanted Jessica to meet Shane so she can think about her decision to get Dr. Karl. Jeri wants to get Dr. Karl so she can learn more about his work and keep people like Shane to help people instead of locking them away. Jessica declines this and demands she makes the delay. Meanwhile, Jessica is at the prison talking to her mother about planning a vacation in exchange for a confession. They talk about how Alisa took them to a cheap hotel near the beach when Jessica was 12 and that she and her brother use to fight about what rooms they would get. Alisa goes back to her cell where the guard tells her she has to eat her dinner. However, Alisa is not hungry and she goes into a fit of rage when the guard tries to force her to eat. Alisa almost kills him but stops herself, saying that she can never be controlled. Meanwhile, Jessica goes to the hotel and finds Dr. Karl in the paradise room. Jessica convinces Karl to leave the country and to go South America. Dr. Karl then tells Jessica that he never worked on Shane at IGH, meaning that Shane is either a fraud or someone else worked on him. Before he can leave, Jessica takes a few mugshots that Oscar can use to develop a passport for him.
Meanwhile, Trish goes to visit Alisa in prison. Trish talks to her about Jessica and how Alisa is manipulating her. Alisa starts to rage and Trish gets out before she can snap. Meanwhile, Jessica is over at Oscars where Karl’s fake passport is being made. They hear a knock on the door and discover that’s Trish. Trish tells Jessica that she went to go see her mother and warn Jessica about what she is doing to her. Jessica shrugs it off and Trish goes to visit Malcolm. Malcolm is lifting weights and this leads to them having sex. Meanwhile, Alisa is asleep in bed when she is awoken by the guard she attacked who put tasers in her cuffs. The guards shock her while he is trashing her cell saying that she is going to abided by his rules or else she will never see her daughter again. Meanwhile, Jessica is back at Oscar’s waiting for the passport to be done. They talk about what will happen after everything is done and if they will still be together. Jessica doesn’t give him an answer but tells him to call her when the passport is done. We then cut to Jessica at the prison meeting Jeri there. Jeri tells Jessica that Alisa signed the papers and that everything seems to have worked out. Jessica then tells Jeri about Shane and how he may not be who he says he is. Jessica tells Jeri that Green has been lying to her about Shane this whole time and that she is not cured of her ALS. This causes Jeri to get upset but she will still file the paperwork for Alisa. Jessica goes to see her mother in visitation. She tells her that the paperwork is being filed tomorrow and she will be released soon. Jessica notices burn marks on Alisa’s arms and she starts to ask with Alisa telling her not to worry. Meanwhile, Trish and Malcolm are in bed when Trish starts to talk about what has happened to her over the past 2 weeks. Trish tells Malcolm that they should both help Jessica and they should go find Dr. Karl and they go snooping on Jessica’s computer. They find the pictures that Jessica took and are able to get Dr. Karl’s location. Meanwhile, Jeri comes back home to find her place has been looted by Shane and Green who are both gone. Meanwhile, Jessica is following the Guard who attacked her mother and is on the phone with someone who worked with him. She finds out that the Guard was fired from a previous job because of prisoner suicides. She then follows the bus he goes on while in a cab. Meanwhile, Trish and Malcolm are at the love hotel but aren’t getting anywhere. Jessica follows the guard to his house and Trish is able to get a visual on Karl. Trish gets out of the car along with Malcolm but Trish knocks Malcolm out and puts him in the trunk. Jessica waits till the guards leaves his house so she can sneak in through the window. Jessica doesn’t find anything until she looks behind a bear head trophy on the wall to find the numbers of previous prisoners. The guard pepper sprays her and beats her with a club. Jessica is able to grab the club and she accidentally kills him with the club.
This was another great episode and it really does feel like everything is starting to come full circle and wind down. I loved how Jessica is able to convince her mother to take the deal by sending Karl away. It feels like Alisa will be able to spend more time with Jessica soon. I also liked how Alisa is able to control herself while in prison and is only using her powers when necessary.
I also love how Malcolm is finally starting to step up and help Jessica with her case, even when she is not around to do so. Malcolm is starting to evolve into his own PI and I’m really glad to see how he is doing.
Trish on the other hand, while she is trying to do the right thing, can’t help but end up trying to get herself killed. I don’t know what she is on now that the Inhaler stopped working but she is just going on a self-destructive warpath right now. I thought she was supposed to be a superhero like Hellcat but now she is just turning into her own version of Simpson from last season.
The acting in this episode was really strong from everyone. We got to see a lot of emotions run high and everything did a fantasic job.
The Verdict:
AKA Pork Chop showed us that life in prison with a superpowered being isn’t always easy. It also showed us that Trish continues to go on a downward spiral into madness and I just want it to end. Other then those, this was another great episode and I can’t wait to see how it continues to unfold in the last three episodes.

REVIEW: Jessica Jones Season 2 Episode 9
Alright, time for Episode 9. After the last episode ended with shots fired, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
The episode opens with the reveal of who the shooter is, Pryce Cheng (Terry Chen). He is trying to kill Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer), which doesn’t go according to plan and he decides to make a run for it. Before he could leave the building, Alisa tracks him down and starts to beat him up but, Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), uses one of the syringes on Cheng to knock him out and stop Alisa from her actions. Back at Alias, Jessica ties up Cheng with duct tape and Alisa tires to help Jessica with her shoulder. Meanwhile, Inez Green (Leah Gibson), and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), are in bed together after they finished having sex. They talk about wanting to go on a vacation after everything is done. Meanwhile, Jessica is watching over Cheng because she can’t sleep when Trish Walker (Rachel Taylor), comes knocking on the door during the middle of the night. Trish grills Jessica on keeping her in the dark and Jessica points out that Trish is back on drugs. Trish storms off when Jessica tries to ask her about it and Alisa starts to have a nightmare. She breaks the bed and the chains and is standing up calling her Jessica. Jessica is able to wake her up and Jessica is able to put Alisa back to bed. We cut to the next morning when Oscar (J.R. Ramirez), taking out the trash when he notices glass shards on the ground from Jessica’s Windows. Oscar goes to knock on Jessica’s door and ask her what happened and Jessica tells him that someone tried to kill her mother and she got shot but everything is alright. Oscar’s ex-wife comes bargaining down the hall with their son and tries to argue over custody of their child. Jessica sets everything straight and the ex-wife is mad about Jessica and storms off. Meanwhile, Trish is back at her apartment eating a burger and ignoring texts. She goes to her laptop and sees that Griffin is on the news, she closes the laptop out of anger and goes to use the Inhaler to make herself feel better.
We then cut to Green and Jeri look over clothes and talking about Jeri’s fashion sense. Trish knocks on the door and then walks right in asking to speak to Green, Trish wants to put Green on the radio so she can expose IGH and what they did to draw out the killers behind it. Jeri refuses to give up Green because she would be putting herself and others in danger and Trish storms out. Meanwhile, Jessica and Alisa are showering down Cheng who has been knocked out cold all night. The water doesn’t wake him up and they decide to make breakfast. A breakfast that includes Spaghetti with Butter and Jam mixed in (I could handle the butter but not the jam). Jessica and Alisa talk about her father and how he was a bad driver. Jessica blames herself for the accident but Alisa tells her that it was because of her fathers bad driving. Alisa then grabs her ashes and flushes them down the toilet because she thinks it gives Jessica closure. Alisa talks about wanting to run away and start a new life so her and Jessica can start over. This is cut short when Oscar calls Jessica saying that his ex-wife took off with his son and he doesn’t know where they are. Oscar wants Jessica to do her thing and go find them. Jessica agrees and talks Alisa with her so she doesn’t kill Cheng in the process. Before they leave, Jessica injects Cheng with another dose of the drug so he can remain asleep. Meanwhile, Jeri goes to pick up Shane from prison and take him back to her place so he can heal her. I forgot to mention in the last review that Jeri has the power to heal anyone of their sickness and that is why Jeri wants him so bad. Meanwhile, we cut to Trish on her show doing an interview with an author about her new book. Trish starts to go off the rails however and she ends up quitting her own show right on the air. Meanwhile, Oscar, Jessica and Alisa go to the ex-wife’s house in order to search for clues and they find that their passports and the sons Captain America figure is gone. This leads them to a bus station where we see the Mother and Son on a bus to Montreal. Jessica and Alisa stop the bus using their bare hands and it is a really awesome scene that shows the true power of mother and daughter. Oscar is able to grab his son and the wife tries to tell her side of the story to Jessica.
We then cut to Jeri and Green making the bed when Jeri gets into the bed naked. Green tells her that Shane’s powers didn’t always work but Jeri is hell-bent on trying. Shane uses his powers and we don’t know if it worked or not. Meanwhile, Trish is punching her anger into a punching bag and gets a call from Ronald from CCN. Ronald talks to her about what happened on Trish Talk and hires her to do rage out like she did on a talk show for CCN. Trish goes to use her Inhaler but realizes that it is all out, there is nothing left in it. Meanwhile, Jessica, Alisa and Oscar with his kid are in the elevator walking out from their adventure. Oscar tells Jessica that he knows her mother is like her and now he owes them one for saving his kid. Jessica and Alisa talk about how Jessica doesn’t feel Oscar is safe around her mother because she killed the last boyfriend Jessica had. Before they could continue the conversation, Cheng finally awakes and starts to make noise in the tub. Jessica and Alisa go to check on him and talk about what to do with Cheng. Jessica tells Alisa to back off while she handles Cheng and she pushes him into the other room while Alisa is left out. Jessica and Cheng come to an agreement but Cheng still wants Alisa to pay for killing his friend. Jessica agrees and calls Detective Costa telling him that the killer is there at Alias. This causes Alisa to go rage and try to kill Cheng. Jessica tries to stop her mother from hurting Cheng and the two get into a fight in the hallway but Jessica begs Alisa to stop. Alisa runs off but is stopped by the cops waiting outside and Jessica tells her to stop and let the cops take her in.
This was another good episode. Although I wasn’t a huge fan of the Oscar subplot and Trish is starting to get on my nerves now, I can still say that I really liked this episode. I like how Jessica and Alisa spent more time together and even stopped a bus together. I really like their chemistry and it just sucks now that Alisa is now in jail (I wonder how long it will take before she breaks out?).
The whole subplot with Oscar and his kid wasn’t the worst thing ever. However, it really did feel a little forced so that we can add more drama that Jessica needs to take care of and it takes away from the overarching narrative of the season. While I’m willing to let it slide because it gave us the scene of Jessica and Alisa stopping a bus together, I still can’t help but feel like this may not come up again in these next few episodes.
Trish, on the other hand, was really surprising and I’m really not liking her that much now. I know that she wants to help out and try to make the world a better place. However, screaming and attack an author over a book about Gluten is not the way to go about it. It’s starting to feel like she is getting a little too preachy while drugged up. Her whole rant kind of breaks the immersion because it feels like it could also be a critique on modern society as a whole. While fourth wall breaks are not always a bad thing, this one was handled a little too poorly.
I will give Trish one thing when she said that she quit her own show and slammed those headphones down on the desk, it was an awesome thing to see and everyone’s reactions around her were hilarious.
The acting in this episode was great and I really did like seeing both Jessica and Alisa happy about what they did for Oscar.
The Verdict:
AKA The Shark In The Bathtub, Monster In The Bed is a good episode but not as good as the last one. The Oscar subplot was nice but we could have gone without seeing it. Trish is also starting to become a meme of herself and is self-destructive. Overall, I liked this episode but not as much as I liked other episodes.

REVIEW: Jessica Jones Season 2 Episode 8
Alright, time for Episode 8. After the flashback episode, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
We start the episode with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), chained up to the same bed that her mother was and Dr Karl (Callum Keith Rennie), is telling her about what he has done with Alisa (Janet McTeer). Karl goes on about how what he did was for the greater good and that he loves Alisa and is helping her get better. Jessica disagrees with this and calls Karl out on his words. Meanwhile, Jessica gets a call from Trish (Rachel Taylor), and Trish asks Jessica where she has been and if she needs a rescue. Jessica dodges this by saying that she is alright and to drop the case because she has found everything she needs. Trish doesn’t like this and Malcolm (Eka Darville), is with Trish and they both argue over what Jessica said and how it’s not just a case to them and that they should go find her. Meanwhile, Jessica is able to convince Karl to unchain her so she can talk to her mother but Jessica locks out Karl so she can send a picture Karl’s address to Detective Eddy Costa so he can find her and arrest Karl and Alisa. Alisa comes barging in and restrains Jessica so they can talk things out. Alisa wants Karl to lock the door behind him and run away with the money they had stashed away. Meanwhile, Malcolm and Trish talk about their options and Malcolm asks Trish about the Inhaler that Simpson used but now she is using it. Malcolm asks Trish if the Inhaler was the cause of her sickness and the fact they had a one night stand. Trish tries to say that the Inhaler is not affecting her at all and Malcolm doesn’t believe her. Malcolm then tells Trish that he isn’t going anywhere with her while she is on the inhaler.
We then cut to Jessica and Alisa trapped in the room and waiting for the police to arrive. How do they pass the time? By drinking of course. Alisa asks Jessica if she wants to say anything to her and Jessica says that she will need about 17 years. Alisa fires back by saying you got 17 minutes so better say it quick. Meanwhile, Inez Green (Leah Gibson) and Jeri Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss), are back and looking into someone named Shane, a former IGH employee that Green knew and we get some backstory on Jeri and Green. Jeri grew up in a trailer with four siblings and Green tried to work different jobs after IGH, one including working at an adult film store. Meanwhile, Jessica and Alisa are still trapped and it’s at this point they start to open up to each other. Alisa talks about how her marriage was about to implode and before the accident, she was gonna file for a divorce. Jessica thinks that’s BS but she doesn’t really know because it all happened when she was a kid. Next, Alisa talks about the beach that Jessica use to love going to every summer but the last year they went, she didn’t want to go. Alisa had to drag her on the Ferris Wheel and it’s then that Jessica was able to fully embrace it because she loved the feeling of being high and on top of the world. After they share stories, Jessica finds a hidden passage behind a bookshelf and the two manage to escape. The cops show up to the house to find it empty and when they find the room, it’s also empty but they see that they escaped. Meanwhile, Malcolm decides to continue Jessica’s case on Jeri’s partners and Jeri makes a visit to the patient in prison. Meanwhile, Jessica and Alisa are in a cab while the driver is texting and driving. Alisa is starting to get angry about this but Jessica tries to calm her down. It doesn’t work and Jessica get’s the cab to pull over so they can walk the rest of the way to Alias Investigations. They make it inside and the two of them talk about what is going to happen and what they are planning to do. Before anything could happen, Detective Costa shows up to talk to Jessica outside of her office. Jessica tells him that she will come down to the station later and Alisa uses that time to escape Jessica through her bedroom window. Meanwhile, Malcolm is walking down the street when Trish calls him asking about Jessica. Malcolm doesn’t know where Jessica is after checking most of the bars around and Malcolm hangs up on Trish.
We then cut to Jessica in the elevator when she finds that Alisa is with her Boyfriend Oscar (J.R. Ramirez), talking in the hall. Jessica get’s mad about this and she pushes Alisa into her office and tells Oscar they will talk later. Alisa then tells Jessica that she jumped out of the window, onto the roof and made it back inside in order to avoid the detective. Jessica is still upset with Alisa but accepts this excuse. Meanwhile, Malcolm goes to the bar he was looking at earlier on the computer and finds the person he is looking for. He is able to get him to spill the beans on what he has on the shareholders of Jeri’s and Malcolm is able to convince him to dig up that dirt. Before Malcolm can leave, he gets into a fight with some people and Trish comes to help him out. Trish then gives Malcolm the choice to use the Inhaler that Trish has been keeping and convinces Malcolm to use it. Malcolm uses the Inhaler and starts to run away when it kicks in. Meanwhile, Jeri comes home to find that Green is about to leave and she gives back the clothes that Jeri got for her. Jeri stops Green from leaving when she tells her that Shane was released and that they should celebrate with some Champagne. Jeri notices the scars that Green has and they don’t freak her out. This whole thing leads to a kissing session that is cut short. Meanwhile, Jessica is setting up the couch and Alisa is putting Whiskey in her tea. The two of them talk but are interrupted by gunshots. One hits Jessica in the shoulder and this causes Alisa to rage and go after the shooter.
This was a great episode coming from the Flashback one we had. It doesn’t waste any time getting back into the conflict at hand and I really like that. Most shows would try and do more with the Flashback Episode but this one just gives you the flashback and focuses back on the present.
I really did like the dynamic between Jessica and Alisa. It’s clear that the two are still having trouble trying to accept one another but they do work out their issues (Sort of), and can not try to kill each other. It’s clear that Alisa still loves Jessica and Jessica is still trying to wrap her head around what Karl did to her mother. I really liked the fake out later on when Jessica thinks Alisa is gone but she was just trying to help Jessica. It shows that Alisa is here to stay with Jessica and that she doesn’t plan on running away or vanishing again now that she is with her daughter.
The acting in this episode was great as well and everyone is doing a great job with their roles. I really like Janet McTeer as Alisa Jones. She is a damaged woman with powers that is trying to keep herself cool but sometimes her anger can get the best of her. It’s almost like she is a human hulk when she get’s angry (A She-Hulk maybe?).
What I didn’t like was Trish. I know she is concerned for Jessica but also getting Malcolm to use the Inhaler was not a good move on her part. It’s like she is trying to help others with the Inhaler but doesn’t really know how to use or what it can really do a person.
The Verdict:
AKA Ain’t We Got Fun was a great return after the Flashback. It’s also an episode that is more focused on Jessica and Alisa’s relationship. We needed to see how these two would react to each other so they can accept one another moving forward. I’m also glad it didn’t wait until the last few episodes for them to hash it out and try to form a bond. I also liked the other stuff that happened in the episode but I think Trish needs to stop using the Inhaler before she gets either herself or someone killed over it.

Alright, time for Episode 7. After the shocking revelation from the last episode, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
It’s a flashback episode!!
We start the episode just after the crash that happened with the Jones family. We then cut to Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer), at IGH where she wakes up to see that she looks like the monster that Jessica was having a nightmare about before. Alisa starts to freak out and go on a rampage before she runs into a young Jessica Jones and Dr. Karl Malus (Callum Keith Rennie), injects Alisa with a drug to put her into a coma. We then cut to 5 years later (Not stuck on a hellish island mind you), when Alisa wakes up to find Dr. Karl and Dr. Leslie Hansen (Renata Hinrichs), in a new hospital room. Dr. Karl tells Alisa that she has had special treatment and underwent DNA editing to give her a new look and powers. Karl also tells her about what happened to her family and Jessica, Jessica is, of course, alright and has powers but everyone else has died. We then cut to a few years later to the college years when Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), is at a bar where they are premiering Trish Walker’s (Rachel Taylor), new music video, I Want Your Cray Cray.

Jessica is not that happy about the whole video and event and tries to talks to Trish about how she is acting and Trish ignores her because she wants to have fun. Jessica grows more upset at Trish as she goes to the bathroom for drugs and wants to party at her house when she should be studying. Jessica and Trish fight outside and Jessica rips open an ATM to prove a point. Meanwhile, Alisa is stuck at IGH when she goes to Karl and tries to get him to tell her about Jessica. Karl tells Alisa that the experiments they did were illegal and she was presumed dead so Jessica could be adopted. Alisa starts to freak out at the news and she has to be drugged by Karl so she can calm down. Meanwhile, Jessica is making out with Sterling (Mat Vairo), he is the bartender who quit his job from earlier. It seems the two of them are in a relationship now and we learn that Jessica stole her famous Leather Jacket from a store. It also seems that it has been a month since Jessica last saw Trish and Jessica have been living with Sterling. Jessica goes to the same club from before where Trish is hanging with her friends and Jessica introduces Sterling to Trish. Sterling tells Trish about his business idea and gives her his card. Jessica is not too happy about this and she pulls Sterling aside, Sterling tells Jessica that it’s only business and asking Trish for a brand deal isn’t a handout.
Meanwhile, Alisa is still at IGH and we see two nurses, one of them being Inez Green (Leah Gibson). Green tells the other nurse that Alisa has been given her meds and they can release her. Little do they know, it was a lie and Alisa springs from her bed and attacks both the nurses. She throws Green into a glass cabinet and snaps the neck of the other nurse. Alisa grabs the key and escapes leaving Green on the ground with glass shards in her body (Now we know how she got those scars). We then cut to Jessica and Sterling returning back to their place with takeout, there is then a knock on the door. A group of guys comes in and demands money from Sterling. The one guy put money down on Sterling’s Club Alias idea as an investment and hasn’t gotten anything yet. This leads to Jessica stuffing him with food and kicking the thugs down, they run away from Jessica out of fear. Meanwhile, Alisa is out on the street and she bumps into Dorothy (Rebecca De Mornay), Alisa asks about Jessica and where she is and Dorothy doesn’t know until she decides to make a call. Alisa is able to track down Jessica as she helps out a group of kids looking for water on a hot summer day. Jessica kicks a fire hydrant and walks to the Pheonix Bar while Alisa follows from a distance.
Jessica is in the bar drinking and waiting for Sterling to come and meet her. Alisa is watching her and decides to take a seat. Jessica goes to the bathroom and Alisa follows her in. Jessica asks Alisa for a tampon and Jessica says that she owes Alisa a drink. Alisa walks out from the bathroom to find Sterling swarmed with the same guys from earlier and they all go to the alley out back. Sterling is asked by the guy if he can hire Jessica as muscle so he can wipe away the debt that Sterling owes and he agrees to it. Alisa is enraged by this and grabs Sterling by the head and smashes it against the wall multiple times. Jessica then comes looking for him and finds him bloody in the alleyway with Alisa watching from up top. Later on, Jessica goes back to the club looking for Trish and finds her in the bathroom on her knees and about to give the manager oral sex. Jessica stops this and threatens the manager when he calls her a bitch and she slams his face into the mirror.
We then cut to Jessica and Trish on a rooftop talking about what happened to Sterling. Jessica tells Trish that she has been trying to call her about 24 hours with no answer because she was high on drugs. Trish finally comes clean to Jessica about her being an addict and that she needs rehab. Jessica wants Trish to forget about her tour and go stay with her mom so she can get clean. Trish doesn’t want to but Jessica tells her that she will die and be more alone without her. The two of them then decide to stay on the rooftop for awhile so they can process their situations. Meanwhile, Alisa goes back to IGH so she can talk to Dr. Karl about what she did and about Jessica. Dr. Karl comes clean about what he did to Alisa and is able to get her to come back with him to IGH.
Now back in the present, we see that Alisa is telling all of this to Jessica and in the end, asks for her forgiveness. Jessica tells her no and sucker punches Alisa and knocks her back and knocks off her wig. Dr. Karl then drugs Jessica and knocks her out.
Wow, where to start with this. I will start by saying that I love origin/flashback stories so once I realized that it was a flashback episode, I got really excited. This episode was really good and it really does help shape Jessica and Trish’s relationship with each other and shows that not everything was right in the Walker family.
I really like how Jessica was able to show that she was able to live without Trish in her life and her money. It shows that Jessica can be dependent and shows that she tried to do it once on her own but it was her mother that threw a wrench in her plans when she killed her BF.
I would also like to point out how Sterling seemed to play a huge part in her backstory here. From the Leather Jacket that Jessica wears to the name of her company. Sterling may not have lived to see what Jessica did but it’s nice to see her honouring him by naming her company Alias and still wearing that Jacket that she stole from the store with Sterling.
Alisa in this episode was also very interesting and compelling. She just wanted to know what happened to her family and Jessica and when she finally got that, her anger got the best of her. She realized that she wasn’t ready for the truth and couldn’t handle the situation at hand so she felt that the only home she has was IGH.
The acting in this episode was awesome as well. Since it was a flashback, everyone got to play a younger version of themselves and it was really great to see. Rachel Taylor did a really great job of showing what the drugged out of her mind Trish was, Jessica was more of the same but happier then she is now and Alisa was a mother looking for her daughter.
The Verdict:
AKA I Want Your Cray Cray was an awesome flashback episode. In a season that is basically digging up the past, it’s nice to see that they have enough room and story for a flashback episode. I really like how Sterling played a huge part in shaping Jessica in her younger years and seeing Trish at her lowest was nice to see as well. Overall, this was a great flashback episode and it help set the stage for what we can expect to see happen in the next few episodes.
9.5/10
Next up, Episode 8.
New Details Revealed About Luke Cage Season Two Villains, “Heroes for Hire” and More
The first issue of Empire‘s Pilot magazine features several juicy sneak peeks of what’s to come on the second season of Marvel’s Luke Cage. The magazine interviews the Netflix series’ showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker, as well as stars Mike Colter and Simone Missick. They discuss season one’s shortcomings, a spinoff and what’s to come in the new season.
Here are the most interesting spoilery scoops:
Bushmaster
This version of the villain is described as “bullet resistant” by Coker and he explains that “It’s not gonna bounce off, but he has his ways of healing. And he has very similar strength to Luke in terms of being able to take a punch and give a punch.”
“Jamaica has always been a country of resistance,” he says, touching on Bushmaster’s Carribean background. “They were the first to cast off their shackles and say, ‘We have our own government, this is how we’re doing things.’ We put a lot of that stuff into the character of Bushmaster.”
Misty Knight
“It’s her shooting hand, it’s her basketball hand, it’s her everything,” Missick says, referring to the character’s newfound disability and the impact it will have on her. “How does this person who is identified by her strength and her power as a cop do that job? She can’t. So we see Misty at the top of the season walking away from the thing that defined her.”
Missick adds: “I’ve got a lot more stunts this season.”
Danny Rand and “Heroes for Hire”
“Danny helps Luke channel his chi,” Coker says, which results “in a fight to end all fights that was just one of the most fun things we’ve done.”
“Me and Finn get along rather well, we’re pretty cool. I think our characters play well off each other,” Colter teased before making it clear that the chances of a Heroes for Hire show is “a question above my pay grade.”
Coker, on the other hand, is a little more positive. “It’s something that’s in the air. Internally at Marvel Television, everybody knows there’s a part of that combination that is inevitable, particularly when you watch them together in the way that we did it. If feels right. It feels good. It feels like, ‘I want to see more of this combination. Heroes for Hire is really not off the table.'”
Season One’s Shortcomings
“The standard conventional wisdom is that the show was great up until episode 7, and then went downhill because Diamondback wasn’t as good a villain as Cottonmouth,” Coker admits. “But as Jeph Loeb, the President of Marvel Television jokes, Mahershala couldn’t have followed Mahershala!”
“It was a great try,” Colter confesses when asked about that first run of episodes. “Some people enjoy the full season. Some really felt the second part was not as strong as the first. And I get both…but you’ve got to take a chance to make your series different, and I thought it was commendable. If people thought it was a miss, that’s fine. We have a different approach for the next season.”
The magazine confirms that Gabrielle Dennis will be playing Nightshade, a character from the comic books who was a biochemist with a strong interest in lycanthropy.
Season 2 of Marvel’s Luke Cage streams June 22 on Netflix.

REVIEW: Jessica Jones Season 2 Episode 6
Alright, time for Episode 6. We are halfway through Season 2, will this episode continue to maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
We start the episode with Jessica (Krysten Ritter), running from the aquarium all wet when she sees Dr. Karl and Hansen making their escape in a car. She tries to take a picture with her phone but it won’t turn on because it’s full of water.
If I can take a second to rant about this. This part really bugged me because it looks like she is using an iPhone 7 and last time I checked, those are waterproof. So why would she have trouble and have to put her phone in a bag of rice so she can fix it? If the phone is waterproof, she would have no trouble using it. Why would they try this stunt if someone like me is going to notice this and make a rant about it?
Anyways, rant over. She get’s a bag of rice to put her “Waterproof” phone in and she grabs a magazine and sees that it printed a headline detailing that Trish (Rachel Taylor), and Griffin (Hal Ozsan), are done. Jessica is able to get her phone working and prints some of the pictures from it. She is distracted by Oscar (J.R. Ramirez), who is playing loud music from his apartment when Jessica goes to tell him to turn it down. Jessica talks to Oscar over drinks and things start to get personal when Oscar talks about his past. Jessica tries to leave but Oscar wants her to stay because Jessica tells him that she doesn’t want to be alone. This causes the two to kiss and have sex on top of paint that they spilt onto paper on the floor (I hope they realize that paint is hard to wash off your clothes). Meanwhile, Trish is walking around in a bad neighbourhood when she starts to follow a man. She thinks the man has a gun and follows him onto a bus. She stares him down until he finally pulls out the object he was hiding, a book about positive thinking. Trish then back’s off and when the bus stops, we hear people arguing in the back. It sounds like someone won’t get off at their stop so Trish uses her new enhanced strength from the inhaler to kick the guy out. We then cut to the next morning, Jessica wakes up in Oscar’s bed and Oscar has been up painting/drawing a picture of Jessica sleeping. Jessica leaves and goes back to her office when Malcolm (Eka Darville), is there and starts to grill Jessica about what she did. Malcolm examined the photo and found that Dr. Karl is wearing a University Class Ring that is from the same university that Malcolm got kicked out off. Jessica wants Malcolm to go back to the university to dig up info on Dr. Karl. Meanwhile, Jeri (Carrie-Anne Moss), comes back from shopping for clothes and conditioner that Inez Green (Leah Gibson), wanted. Jeri then tells Green to spill the beans on IGH and it turns out that Green doesn’t really have much valuable info. Meanwhile, Trish and Jessica meet up at to speak to the owner of a shop near the aquarium. The convince the owner to look at security cam footage and find that Dr. Karl is actually keeping Hansen drugged up on something.
Meanwhile, Malcolm takes a trip to the University and meets up with an old friend of his. The two of them talk and hug things out when she leaves, we see that Malcolm has swiped her student card. Meanwhile, Jeri is on the phone with Jessica and is starting to lose her patience with Green and wants her out of her safe house/apartment. Green was eavesdropping and uses this as a means to start stealing a bunch of jewellery and pills. We then cut back to Jessica’s office where Malcolm was able to confirm that Dr. Karl was in the 1978 class at the university. Trish starts to encourage and complement Malcolm on his work and Jessica tells him to punch out for the day. Jessica is able to find out that someone has been paying all of Dr. Karl’s bills for the past decade. That person is Justin Ambrose, the owner of Ambrhose and who has a membership to a private men’s only golf club. Jessica and Trish go their and Trish causes a scene so that Jessica and sneak off and find Ambrose. Jessica finds Ambrose and the two of them talk about what Dr. Karl did for him. Dr. Karl saved his son who was born with a defect and is now perfectly fine. Meanwhile, Trish is still talking to the guys at the entrance when she starts to not feel well and actually vomits, causing her to leave in a hurry. Trish tries to look for the inhaler but can’t find it. Meanwhile, Ambrose and Jessica are still talking and Jessica wants him to tell her where Dr. Karl is. Ambrose refuses and Jessica breaks one of his putters. Meanwhile, Dr. Karl is on the phone and making syringes when he wakes up Hansen. Dr. Karl then tells her that Jessica is coming and that she should know the truth. Meanwhile, Jessica takes Trish back to her apartment and puts her to bed. Jessica wants to stick around but Trish says she will be fine. This turns into a cover up for Trish to look for the inhaler. The same inhaler that Malcolm finds back at Alias and Malcolm calls up Trish.
We then cut to Jeri in bed reading some papers when Green walks in with the bag full of Jewellery and Meds. Jeri is pissed and Green talks to her about Jeri’s condition and her ALS. Jeri wants Green to leave but she tells Jeri about another patient she didn’t talk about, someone with the power to heal people. Meanwhile, Jessica finds a package at her door. It’s the painting that Oscar did of her and she put’s it near her bookshelf with her booze on it. We then cut to Trish waiting by the door for Malcolm. Malcolm brings her jacket and the inhaler and Malcolm starts to talk about how Trish is struggling and life problems. Trish goes to the bathroom to use the inhaler and when she comes out, Malcolm is about to leave but Trish goes to him and kisses him. The two make out and then they have sex. The next day, Jessica is waiting outside a building. She is waiting for Eric, Ambrose’s son. Jessica grabs him and facetime’s his dad asking for information again and promises to leave them alone. Jessica get’s the address to Dr. Karl’s house and takes a Taxi there. She get’s to the house and we see that it’s the same house from a few episodes back. Jessica goes through the house and when she gets to the basement, she finds out the truth. She finds out that Hansen is actually her mother, Alisa Jones (Janet McTeer).
WOW! The ending reveal was such a great ending. I love the fact that this whole time, Jessica was chasing after her mom who is more powerful then her. This adds a whole new level of questions that I can’t wait to get the answers for later on. I love the makeup of Alisa’s backside of her head. It just looks gnarly and it makes you see why she has to wear a wig.
I also love the fact that we are learning more about Malcolm and seeing him evolve even more throughout this episode. He really does show that he is willing to learn and work for Jessica by digging up the past to obtain information on a present case. I wonder how pissed his EX will be to find that he stole her Student Card? Malcolm may have sober up but he has learned a lot of new tricks.
The only bad thing I can say is that Trish is really starting to bother me. Ever since she started using the inhaler, she has become a mess. Now she is willing to do anything to get more of it and she even decided to have sex with Malcolm after breaking up with Griffin (Is that too soon?). I guess you can say that this is how she develops her powers but I don’t want her to turn into Malcolm from season 1. Trish is slowly going down the path of drug use and it will really hurt her character and her career.
The Verdict:
AKA FaceTime signals the end of the first half of the season. It feels like this episode wrapped up all the IGH and Dr. Karl stuff so that now we can shift gears to what comes next. I really liked the ending reveal and the stuff with Malcolm. I can’t wait to see what happens now throughout the rest of the season.
8.5/10
Next up, Episode 7.
REVIEW: Jessica Jones Season 2 Episode 5
Alright, time for Episode 5. After the last episode ended with Jessica in cuffs, will this episode maintain the momentum or will this crash and burn?
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hSvnepZS26s[/embedyt]
Warning: Spoilers Ahead! Turn back now if you haven’t seen the episode!
We start the episode with Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), in a cell. Meanwhile, Hansen is in front of a firepit, where she throws all the files she stole and her clothes in it to cover up. We then cut to Jessica in holding where Jeri (Carrie-Anne Moss), is there talking to Jessica. Jeri wants Jessica to spill the beans on what she is doing so she can clear her name. Jessica refuses and Jeri decides to leave her on her own. Meanwhile, Trish (Rachel Taylor), is vomiting up in the toilet when Dorothy (Rebecca De Mornay), comes in and helps her out. We learn that Dorothy has been taking care of Trish who was asleep for 26 hours after what happened and Trish wants to call Jessica. Dorothy tells Trish that she has landed a Job interview with the local news station and has an interview today. Trish get’s excited and runs to the shower to get ready. Meanwhile, Jessica is on the phone with Malcolm (Eka Darville), and Jessica tells him that he is in charge of Alias while she is in jail. Jessica then tasks Malcolm with talking to Inez Green (Leah Gibson) and finding out what she knows about IGH. Meanwhile, we learn that Hansen is at her safe house (At least I would call it that), and she is practising the Piano when her neighbour knocks on her door and wants to come in to hear her play the Piano because it calmed her baby down. Hansen lets them in and she plays the Piano when the baby starts to distract her, this causes her to start missing notes and the neighbour starts to get scared and runs out of the house with her baby. This then leads to Hansen destroying the Piano in a fit of rage. We then cut to Jessica and Jeri sitting in the interrogation room, two cops come in and Jessica agrees to tell them everything she knows about Hansen and IGH. Meanwhile, Malcolm is talking to Green and he digs up info about one of the nurses Green use to work with. Hansen was the one that killed the Nurse but it doesn’t add up when her body was found in someone else’s apartment and they are serving time for it. Green finally agrees to sit down and start from the beginning. Meanwhile, Jessica and Jeri are waiting for the cops to come back and clear everything so Jessica can go. The cops show up and bring a set of photos of Hansen before she jumped the crook and they set Jessica free. One of the officers wants Jessica to let him know if she finds anything else and he tells her about the nightmares he had when Kilgrave made him put a gun to his head back in Season 1.
Jessica met’s Jeri outside the building where she tells Jeri about Green. Jessica wants Jeri to offer a safe house for her so she doesn’t get hurt and she wants her to be protected. While talking, Pryce Chang (Terry Chen), ambushes them as they are about to leave. Chang rips on Jeri and Jessica and still thinks Jessica is the killer. Jessica get’s in Chang’s face and sets things straight. After that, Jessica goes back to her office and Malcolm shows Jessica what he found and tells her what Green said. Malcolm wants Green to go wait in his apartment for further instructions and Jessica gives Malcolm another task, take Green to a safe house that Jeri has given the address for. Malcolm then goes to his apartment and finds that Green has stolen his TV. Malcolm then finds Green trying to sell the TV to a shop in order to make some money so she can escape the city. Malcolm talks her out of this with him saying that he will post her address and make her a target. Meanwhile, Jessica goes to visit Oscar (J.R. Ramirez), and he wants him to make her a fake ID so she can sneak into an asylum to find the false killer. Later on, Trish and Dorothy are at an outdoor restaurant and when they walk in, Trish finds out that there was no interview and she finds friends and family around. Trish thinks this is an intervention but it turns out that Griffin (Hal Ozsan), is there to give her something. This turns out to be a proposal with Griffin getting on one knee and asking Trish to marry him. This shocks both Trish and Jessica who makes it thereafter Griffin called her and Trish doesn’t actually say yes but she does kiss him which means yes (At least I think so). Jessica then goes to talk to Griffin who admits that this took some careful planning and some sneaking around but he did this all to make Trish happy. Meanwhile, Malcolm and Green go to the location that Jeri set up and Malcolm delivers Green to Jeri so she can be safe. We then cut to Jessica at Oscar’s place with his son and mother there. They both want Jessica to stay for dinner but Oscar gives her the ID. Oscar then insists that she stay for dinner as well but Jessica says no and she goes.
We then cut to Green inside the safehouse with Jeri and they are having coffee. Green wants Jeri to cut the act and tell her why she is really there, and Jeri tells her that she wants to know everything about IGH. Meanwhile, Jessica is at the Asylum and goes to use her ID which works. She then goes to a room where guards bring in the killer David Kawecki, so Jessica can talk to him. Jessica asks Dave about what happened that night with the nurse and he tells her that he strangled her until she stopped screaming. Jessica doesn’t buy any of that and starts to question his story even more. This upsets Dave to the point of him going into the corner of his cage. Jessica is able to calm him down when she sees Dave drawing a picture of an Octopus. Dave then starts to tell her some facts about Octopuses, when Jessica asks how he knows all of this, Dave says that a Dr. Carl told him all about Octopuses. Dave then tells Jessica that he and Dr. Carl would go the aquarium every day and sit by the Octopus tank. Jessica then asks Dave to draw her a picture of Dave and Dr. Carl sitting by the Octopus tank. Meanwhile, Trish is sitting down on her couch when Dorothy bursts in and yells at Trish for saying no and breaking up with Griffin. The two of them fight and Trish slaps her mother in the face. Dorothy leaves and Trish takes another hit of the Inhaler. Meanwhile, Jessica takes a trip to the aquarium to find Dr. Carl. He doesn’t show up for a bit and Jessica is left to wander around and look at the fish. It takes awhile but he finally shows up to look at the Octopus tank and Dr. Carl is then joined by a woman, we find out that this woman is Hansen. Dr. Carl and Hansen are together on a date and they kiss with Jessica taking pictures from above. Dr. Carl notices her and calls her out, Hansen then punches one of the fish tanks and the alarm goes off. Sending everyone into a frenzy and before Jessica could leave, the tanks glass shatters and water comes pouring out.
Ok, let me start from the beginning. This was another great episode and the first half of this season has been really great so far. I’m glad that this episode raises the stakes even more with the reveal at the end. The only thing I didn’t like in this episode was the whole marriage proposal reveal. This came out of nowhere and it felt kinda forced so that we could get Griffin out of the picture.
The acting in this episode is also great and is standard with each of the episodes. There wasn’t anyone in this episode that I didn’t like so that is a great sign.
I also want to point out that Malcolm was awesome this episode because he was able to get a promotion and also help Green out of throwing her life away. It really does feel like they are giving Malcolm a lot more to do and he has become a central character for this new season.
I’m also glad that Jessica didn’t spend long in jail. This could have at least lasted a few episodes but instead, they decided not to and I am glad for it. I also like how Jessica was able to sneak into the asylum without anyone pointing out who she is. I mean, she has been all over the news so you think someone would be able to spot her but I guess not.
The Verdict:
AKA The Octopus is another great episode and we are almost halfway through the season at this point. This episode was able to keep the momentum moving and was very exciting. However, the whole Marriage Plot was the only bad thing this episode. This came out of nowhere and the fact that Trish said No really makes it feel like it was just for drama sake. However, if you can look past that, another great episode is what you can look forward too.
8.5/10
Next up, we hit the halfway point of the season with Episode 6.
