HBO Finally Confirms Game of Thrones Comes Back in 2019
There have been speculations for a long time now that hit series Game of Thrones would not come back to our screens in 2018. Well, now those speculations have been confirmed, as HBO announced on Thursday that the show’s final season will not air until 2019.
The very short announcement was made on HBO’s main page:
The epic fantasy series Game of Thrones will return for its six-episode, eighth and final season in 2019.
David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik will be the directors for the new season. Writers for the new season are David Benioff & D.B. Weiss, Bryan Cogman and Dave Hill.
This news comes as no surprise, as some people involved in the project have stated before that the show would not come back for a while.
This will be the final season of Game of Thrones and surely David Benioff and D.B. Weiss want to put out the best they can. Filming of the series started last October and it is rumoured to last until summer of this year.
Identity of Alleged HBO Hacker Revealed
Federal authorities have revealed the identity of the hacker who extorted HBO this summer.
The alleged hacker, who has been identified as Iranian Behzad Mesri, has been terrorizing and extorting HBO for several months. Mesri allegedly leaked several episodes of Ballers, Room 104 and Curb Your Enthusiasm, as well as the script for HBO’s hit series Game of Thrones.
Mesri is officially wanted for “stealing proprietary data, including information about then-unreleased episodes of the popular television series, Game of Thrones, and then allegedly seeking to extort HBO.”
According to Entertainment Weekly, he’s also specifically wanted for allegedly being involved “in criminal activities to include unauthorized access to computer systems, stealing proprietary data from those systems, and attempted extortion for approximately $6 million in Bitcoin.”
According to the article, Mesri is a member of the Turk Black Hat Security hacking team.
An image of Mesri was released by the FBI.
“Battle of the Bastards” Director to Return for Game of Thrones Season 8
The list of director for the final season of Game of Thrones is finally here, and you’re going to love it.
The medieval drama is bringing in Miguel Sapochnik and David Nutter, both men have directed episodes of the series before, and some great episodes, for that matter.
Sapochnik directed the action-packed “Battle of the Bastards,” as well as the season 6 finale “The Winds of Winter.” Sapochnik won an Emmy for his work on Game of Thrones last year, but took a break from the show’s seventh season to shoot Netflix’s Altered Carbon.
Nutter, on the other hand, has also worked on some of the series most iconic episodes. He notably directed the Red Wedding episode, “The Rains of Castamere,” which has fans a bit worried for all their favourite characters; as well as the season 5 finale, “Mother’s Mercy.” Nutter’s other credits include series like Arrow, The Flash and The X Files.
Showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss are also going back to directing in this final season. The duo has the honour to direct no less than the final episode of the series.
Game of Thrones begins filming in October, and production is expected to go until August of next year, with rumours to premiere in 2019.
Emilia Clarke Ditches Blonde Wig For Game of Throne Season 8
Emilia Clarke has channelled her inner Targaryen with a new look.
The actress, who plays Daenerys Targaryen on Game of Thrones, is originally a brunette and has been wearing a platinum blonde gorgeous wig for the past seven seasons of the show.
Now that has changed. Clarke posted a picture to her Instagram account showing off her newly dyed platinum hair.
This means the actress might just wear extensions during the final season of the show instead of the usual full wig… or maybe we’re getting a short-haired Dany?

Clarke later posted another picture describing her journey as a blond woman.
There’s no doubt, this is definitely a change!

HBO Wants to Film Several Different Endings for Game of Thrones to Avoid Leaks
HBO is taking a stand against leaks for the final season of their hit series Game of Thrones.
The network’s programming president Casey Bloys said last week that they’re planning to film several endings to season eight of the acclaimed series in order to avoid leaks.
“I know in ‘Game of Thrones,’ the ending, they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that nobody really knows what happens,” said Bloys. “You have to do that on a long show. Because when you’re shooting something, people know,” he added, “so they’re going to shoot multiple versions so that there’s no real definitive answer until the end.”
The decision comes after season seven’s plot details got accurately leaked online months before the show aired on HBO.
The final season of Game of Thrones is rumoured to air in 2019.
