A Lyon health scare shakes up Empire, as Cookie holds down the fort, in spite of it all. Both Andre and Jamal try to right their wrongs, and Jamal makes a shocking revelation on live TV with Robin Roberts (guest-starring as herself). Eager to take Empire to new heights, Eddie’s motives are questioned when numbers don’t add up. Meanwhile, Hakeem and Tiana find common ground and Becky reveals the secret she’s been keeping from J. Poppa in the all-new “Sweet Sorrow” episode of EMPIRE.
Empire airs Wednesdays @ 8pm ET on FOX.
Empire Returns Next Week with New Episode
Empire fans rejoice! The hit series returns next week with a new episode of Season 4.
Here is the synopsis for the episode:
Nurse Claudia (guest star Demi Moore) takes her job to a new level, when she kidnaps Lucious. To find him, Cookie must race against time and use the skills she learned in prison to rescue him. Meanwhile, Andre, Jamal and Hakeem pick up the pieces from their battle with the Dubois family in the all-new “Birds in the Cage” spring premiere episode of EMPIRE.

Empire returns on March 28th at 8 pm on FOX.
Empire and Star to Crossover
The stars have aligned and Empire and Star will collide! Taraji P. Henson’s Cookie and Queen Latifah’s Carlotta will come face-to-face for the very first time.
FOX announced that the crossover will take place on Wednesday, September 27, beginning with Empire‘s Season 4 premiere at 8/7c and concluding with Star‘s Season 2 premiere at 9/8c.
FOX confirmed Latifah will bring her Star diva over to Empire and Empire‘s Jussie Smollett (Jamal) will appear on Star.
FOX also released the official synopsis for the Empire season premiere.
On the brink of Empire Entertainment’s 20th anniversary, Lucious is making his first public appearance after the explosion in Las Vegas, while all members of the Lyon family, as well as Lucious’ nurse, Claudia (guest star Demi Moore), have their own interests in Lucious regaining his physical and mental faculties.

‘Empire,’ ‘The Flash,’ and ‘Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’ Among the Nominees for Teen Choice Awards
Earlier today, FOX released all the nominees for this year’s Teen Choice Awards, and some of the shows featured in our podcasts got nominated!
Empire got a nomination in the category #ChoiceDramaTVShow alongside Riverdale, Famous in Love, Pretty Little Liars, Star and This is Us.
Jussie Smollett from Empire was nominated in the category #ChoiceDramaTVActor for playing Jamal Lyon in the show. Cole Sprouse (Riverdale), Ian Harding (Pretty Little Liars), Milo Ventimiglia and Sterling K. Brown (This is Us), and Jesse Williams (Grey’s Anatomy) were also nominated in the category.
Jennifer Morrison and Lana Parrilla (a.k.a. Emma Swan and The Evil Queen from Once Upon a Time) were nominated for #ChoiceSciFiTVActress alongside Abigail Spencer (Timeless), Eliza Taylor (The 100), Emeraude Toubia (Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments), and Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries). The show itself, however, did not get a nomination.
In the category of #ChoiceActionTVShow we have Arrow, Gotham, Lethal Weapon, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Supergirl, and The Flash.
For #ChoiceActionTVActor: Supergirl‘s Chris Wood, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Gabriel Luna, The Flash‘s Grant Gustin and Arrow‘s Stephen Amell are all nominated alongside Clayne Crawford from Lethal Weapon and Wentworth Miller from Prison Break.
As for #ChoiceActionTVActress, Caity Lotz from Legends of Tomorrow, Candice Patton and Danielle Panabaker from The Flash, Emily Bett Rickards from Arrow, Jordana Brewster from Lethal Weapon, and Melissa Benoist from Supergirl are nominated.
The awards will air live August 13 on FOX.
