The Joker Origin Movie Developing Without Jared Leto
Deadline has reported that a new Joker movie is in the works over at Warner Bros… without Jared Leto.
As we know, Leto was the latest actor to take on the Joker on the silver screen, a role who has been brilliantly played before by Heath Ledger and Jack Nicholson. Even though Leto’s performance was criticized by a lot of fans, others admired his work as the character and are genuinely upset to see that he will be left out of the movie.
These fans mustn’t worry, however, Leto is not out of the DCEU as he was confirmed to make appearances in both Suicide Squad 2 and the Harley Quinn solo movie.
Now the question becomes, why is Leto not reprising his role as the Joker in this origin movie? Well, according to the article, this origin movie would be the first of a new set of DC movies that would “expand the canon of DC properties and create unique storylines with different actors playing the iconic characters.”
The Joker origin movie already has some behind-the-camera talent attached. Martin Scorsese (Taxi Drivers, Goodfellas, The Wolf of Wall Street) is set to produce alongside Todd Phillips (The Hangover, War Dogs) who will also direct and co-write with Scott Silver (The Fighter, The Finest Hours).
The movie would be set in the 80s and have a very different feeling from current DC films, leaning more towards the sensation of a Scorsese movie of the same time.
The movie doesn’t have a release date as of now.
Superman’s Appearance in Justice League May Have Just Been Spoiled
POTENTIAL SPOILERS FOR JUSTICE LEAGUE AHEAD.
Could Superman show up… in Venezuela?
It’s not rare when toys spoil a comic book movie, especially in the DCEU it seems. Now, the latest instance of this happening seems to be related to the return of Superman in Justice League.
The description of a Funko Figure has potentially given away the exact moment when Superman will come in to help the Justice League.
The Batman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and Flash figures are barely holding their own against invading Parademons and an axe-wielding Steppenwolf. If only Superman — in Funko figure form — was here… LOOK! UP IN THE SKY! Is that…is that Superman?? IT IS! It’s the Superman Justice League Movie Funko Pop Vinyl Figure and it resurrected itself moments before Steppenwolf skewered Wonder Woman with a hefty chunk of Venezuela!
Could this be Zack Snyder’s way of getting rid of the backlash he’s faced for destroying Gotham and Metropolis? Could audiences really care more about the destruction of two fictional cities than the one of a real-life country?
Either way, it seems like Superman will show up during a pivotal moment, just in time to save the day.
This potential spoiler also comes just days after Donald Trump threatened the Venezuelan government with military intervention, so Snyder could be setting himself up for some backlash. However, it’d certainly be interesting to see how he and Joss Whedon portray the country, given Venezuela’s current political instability.
Thanks to a Toy, We Now Have Our Best Look at Justice League‘s Steppenwolf So Far
One of DC’s toys designer shared on Instagram an exclusive look at Justice League‘s Steppenwolf as well as his Parademons.
Steppenwolf will be the main villain in Justice League. He’s the uncle of Darkseid in the comics, who is also set to make an appearance at the beginning of the movie. Steppenwolf is a New God who wields an Electro-axe and has abilities like superstrength and longevity.

‘Wonder Woman 2’ Gets a Release Date
Late last night, the sequel for the incredibly successful Wonder Woman finally got a release date.
Warner Bros. decided to move the movie from its lucrative June release date and decided that Wonder Woman 2 will hit theatres December 13, 2019!
Now, why did WB decide not to give this announcement (that everyone was waiting for) during SDCC? It might be due to the fact that no one but Gat Gadot is officially confirmed yet.
It seems like a deal with WW director Patty Jenkins is still developing and that made Warner Bros. decide to just book that release date. Chris Pine is not confirmed to return either.
Wonder Woman 2 would be competing for that box office money against Frozen 2, which comes out during Thanksgiving 2019. Disney also has two other dates booked for live-action fairytales around the same time (November 8 and December 20). In addition, Wicked is set to come out December 20 as well.
Are you excited for Wonder Woman 2?
Alfred and Aquaman Get a Cool Interaction in ‘Justice League’ TV Spot
Jason Momoa’s Aquaman has probably been the most highlighted member of the Justice League so far, and we’re not complaining.
Warner Bros. released a Snapchat ad featuring Batman giving the rest of the Justice League a tour through the Batcave. The clip is very short, but we do get a chance have Aquaman acknowledge Alfred’s badassery.

Stop Everything, We Just Got a Four-Minute Sneak Peek for ‘Justice League’
Warner Bros. just debuted a four-minute sneak peek for the highly anticipated Justice League and it looks like everything we’ve wanted.
We get an amazing look at our five superheroes: Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), being as awesome as usual; Batman (Ben Affleck), in all his glory; Aquaman (Jason Momoa), doing some fabulous hair-flips; the Flash (Ezra Miller), delivering hilarious lines; and a closer look at Cyborg (Ray Fisher) taking over what seems one of Batman’s toys.

‘Shazam!’ Will Start Production Early 2018
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Shazam! will be the next DCEU movie to film.
It is not confirmed if Dwayne Johnson will be in the movie as Shazam!‘s villain, Black Adam. It looks like the character is being saved for its own spinoff.
Shazam! is the story of a kid that can transform himself into a costumed adult with superhuman powers by speaking the words “SHAZAM!”
The movie will be directed by David F. Sandberg (Lights Out) and Peter Safran (Aquaman‘s producer) is in negotiations to produce.
Sandberg took a DECU Reddit to talk about the film: “To keep it general and not go into script details I’d say the core thing that’s appealing to me is the wish fulfillment. What kid doesn’t want to be Superman? This is a kid that basically gets to become Superman.”
Shazam! is predicted to hit theatres in 2019.
Superman’s ‘Justice League’ Costume Looks More Colorful
A Hot Toys action figure of our favorite superhero was spotted at Comic-Con.
Superman has returned (in action figure form) and there is no sign of a black costume… if anything, the costume just seems to feature brighter colors.
There is a chance that Warner Bros could be keeping his dark return as a secret. We’ll have to wait and see.
For now, check out the pictures (which also feature the rest of the Justice League):
