ICYMI: Here’s the Trailer for Netflix’s ‘The Defenders’ + What We Know so Far
Marvel’s The Defenders premiere is quickly approaching, here’s what we know so far.
The Defenders is an upcoming Netflix TV show based on the Marvel Comics team of the same name. The group consists of Max Murdock a.k.a. Daredevil (Charlie Cox), Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter) and Danny Rand a.k.a. Iron Fist (Finn Jones). The Defenders and all the other Marvel/Netflix shows are part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The show will be set one month after events of Iron Fist. These four vigilantes will have to leave their differences aside to fight one common enemy: The Hand.
The Defenders will not be the only ones coming back, as Stick (Murdock’s mentor, played by Scott Glenn), Claire Temple (Cage’s lover and former nurse who gives medical aid to vigilantes, played by Rosario Dawson), Misty Knight (a police detective, played by Simone Missick), Trish Walker (Jones’ adoptive sister and best friend, played by Rachel Taylor), Karen Page (Murdock’s former secretary and reporter, played by Deborah Ann Woll), Foggy Nelson (Murdock’s close friend, played by Elden Henson) and Colleen Wing (Rand’s lover and former member of The Hand, played by Jessica Henwick) are all set to come back and reprise their previous roles in the series.
Sigourney Weaver is joining the cast as one of the TV show’s villains: Alexandra. Her character is described as the head of an ancient organization who’s “really smart” and “very in charge.” Her character has also been described as “a very powerful force in New York City. She’s everything Sigourney is: sophisticated, intellectual, dangerous.”
However, we don’t know if she’ll be our main villain, especially since we have The Hand and Elektra (Élodie Yung) coming back as villains as well.

Season 8 of Game of Thrones May Not Air Until 2019
There have been talks for a while now that the final season of Game of Thrones might not air until 2019, now those rumours are pretty much confirmed.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, programming president Casey Bloys said that depending on how long it takes creators David Benioff and Dan Weiss to write Season 8, we might have to wait two full years after Season 7 is done before Game of Thrones comes back.
However, not everything is bad news. sound designer Paula Fairfield confirmed that we might get feature-length episodes throughout the season instead of the usual hour-long ones, so we’re basically getting a full-length season with the 6 episodes.
Fairfield also said that the last episode of Season 7 will be 82 minutes long!
Season 7 of Game of Thrones premieres Sunday, July 16.
Mustafa Shakir and Gabrielle Dennis Have Been Cast in Luke Cage Season 2

According to Marvel, Shakir will be playing ‘John McIver,’ a natural leader, brimming with charisma, whose mission is focused on Harlem and vengeance.
Dennis, on the other side, will play ‘Tilda Johnson’ who is a brilliant, holistic doctor with a complicated history in Harlem where, as much as she tries to stay far from trouble, it seems to always find her.

Game of Thrones Spin-Offs: Everything There is to Know
Earlier this year, HBO revealed that they were working on developing four spin-offs for the widely popular TV show Game of Thrones.
As expected, fans have done a lot of partying (and speculating) over this news, we have here for you everything we know (so far) about the upcoming spin-offs:
There are already four writers working on developing the shows: Max Borenstein (“Godzilla,” “Kong: Skull Island”), Jane Goldman (“KickAss,” “X-Men: First Class), Carly Wray (“Mad Men,” “Constantine”) and Oscar-winner Brian Helgeland (“L.A. Confidential,” “Mystic River”).
This group of writers are working on as many as five ideas for the spin-off. However, this does not mean there will be five Game of Thrones-related new TV shows. Programming president Casey Bloys said during an interview with Entertainment Weekly, that for now, they’re hoping to do one show that “lives up” to what Dan Weiss and David Benioff have created.
Speaking of Weiss and Benioff, at the moment, they do not want to be involved in any way in these spin-offs. During the interview, Bloys said, “they feel if their name is on the prequels — even in a passive way — it conveys some sort of expectation or responsibility.”
There will be no Robert’s Rebellion or Dunk & Egg spin-off. George R. R. Martin himself announced on his LiveJournal that by the time he’s done with A Song of Ice and Fire, everything about Robert’s Rebellion will be revealed. As for Dunk & Egg, Martin just does not want a situation where the show surpasses the books again.
Martin is, however, involved in all the spin-off ideas and weighing in as it goes.
Finally, do not expect these spin-offs to come out anytime soon. Bloys said that their number one priority right now is delivering a high-quality finale for Game of Thrones (which might not come out until 2019), and they do not intend to premiere a new show “off the back” of the current show and that we’re “not going to see anything air anytime close to the season 8 finale.”

The Marvel’s Inhumans Trailer is Here, We’ll Let You be the Judge
Fans have been wondering if an ABC budget would be enough to support the special effects and amazing visuals that the Inhumans are supposed to have.
Well, now we have our first look and official trailer for the TV series, and it looks a little off.
First look:
In this first official poster, we get our first look into our main characters:
In the middle, Black Bolt (Anson Mount), king of the Inhumans. While he’s missing his head piece from the comics, his costume looks very accurate overall. Black Bolt’s greatest superpower is his voice. If he speaks, he could destroy a city with his voice, and he can’t control it, which makes him pretty much a mute character.
To his right, we can see Medusa (Serinda Swan), Black Bolt’s partner, and while they got the outfit right, Medusa is supposed to have huge moving hair that makes her deadly. In this image, her hair looks rather calm and perfectly combed.
To Black Bolt’s left, we have Karnak (Ken Leung), who’s a master strategist and a genius who can detect weak points to destroy his oponents. Now, Karnak is supposed to have a super brain, but the face tattoos are a very close appoximation.
Besides Karnak, we also have Gorgon (Eme Ikwulakor), the military leader for the Ihumans. Gorgon has hooves and a superhuman strenght.
Next is Medusa’s sister, Crystal (Isabelle Cornish) who’s standing to her right. Her power set is she can manipulate the four elements with her mind. Now, her costume looks a little off, but the hair is the most accurate, with the black stripes.
Last, but not least, we have Maximus (Iwan Rheon from Game of Thrones). He’s Black Bolt’s evil brother, who’s always plotting to overthrow him. He’s a super genius and a telepath. He can control, numb and erase someone’s mind.

Synopses for Season Premieres of Three DC TV Shows Revealed
With SDCC only weeks away, the CW is building momentum by officially releasing the synopses for upcoming seasons of Arrow, The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow.
Synopsis for Season 6 premiere of Arrow:
“With the future of the team left hanging in the balance, Arrow gave new definition to the phrase “blowing up the show.” The emotional showdown between Oliver Queen and Adrian Chase was the perfect conclusion to a stellar fifth season of The CW’s gritty DC Super Hero series. Now, the focus shifts to uncovering the fate of each and every member of Team Arrow. Could anyone have possibly survived an island-wide explosion, or has the book closed on them, as it has on Oliver’s five-year flashback story? Returning to San Diego Comic-Con for a sixth consecutive year, cast members Stephen Amell, David Ramsey, Willa Holland, Emily Bett Rickards, Paul Blackthorne, Katie Cassidy, Echo Kellum, Juliana Harkavy, Rick Gonzalez and producers will be on-hand for an eye-opening conversation about the upcoming season.”
Synopsis for Season 4 premiere of The Flash:
“Running up against an evil time remnant version of yourself is something no one should ever have to do, but that’s exactly what faced Barry Allen (aka The Flash) as he fought to save the life of fiancée Iris West from the God of Speed known as Savitar. Barry’s victory was short-lived, however, as an unbalanced Speed Force began to wreak havoc on Central City, forcing Barry to sacrifice himself for the greater good. With The Fastest Man Alive now trapped inside an extra-dimensional energy, and unknown dangers lurking in the shadows, it will be up to Team Flash to free Barry from his own personal Hell.”
Synopsis for Season 3 premiere of Legends of Tomorrow:
“After crash landing the Waverider in a version of 2017 Los Angeles where dinosaurs roam the streets and the skyline is adorned with London’s iconic Big Ben clock tower, the Legends were quick to realize that “we broke time.” Last year, the loveable band of misfit heroes traveled throughout the timeline fixing a series of Aberrations.”
We can all expect a lot more information on these shows to come out of this year’s San Diego Comic Con later this month.

New Game of Thrones Trailer Hints at New Battles
Season 7 of Game of Thrones is almost here!
HBO released the second trailer for the highly anticipated new season.
[embedyt] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Mlhnt0jMlg[/embedyt]
The two-minute trailer hints at an action-packed season full of battles.
Here’s what we’ve discovered from this trailer so far:
Bran and Meera are (finally) going home.
After a long and painful journey, Bran and Meera seem to finally have made it south of the Wall. Will Bran now tell everyone about Jon Snow’s real parents?
Jon goes back beyond the wall (and fights some White Walkers).
In the trailer, Jon Snow is seen in various scenes beyond the Wall in what looks like some kind of small expedition. What is their mission?
Beric Dondarrion (and the Hound?) joins Jon Snow’s cause.
But Jon is not alone! Beric Dondarrion is also seen beyond the Wall, and fighting some whites besides Jon (second image on the right).
On top of that, some fans have speculated that the man to the left of Jon Snow is no less than the Hound, and given that he was last seen with the Brotherhood Without Banners (which Dondarrion leads), it seems more than likely.
Daenerys takes back her home at Dragonstone.
In this second trailer, Daenerys Targaryen can be seen going into her birthplace, Dragonstone, and taking down the Baratheon banners that Stannis left behind in the castle.
The Unsullied army plans to ambush what looks like Casterly Rock.
It is almost a fact now, and it makes the most sense, that the army of Unsullied is indeed planning on taking the Lannister castle, Casterly Rock.
The Lannister army clashes against the Dothraki.
The trailer also features scenes of the Lannister going into battle against the Dothraki army.
Although, the Dothraki do seem to have an advantage with this dragon flying on their side.
Sea battle?!
With Euron Greyjoy’s promise to kill his niece and nephew, Yara and Theon Greyjoy, and a speculated alliance between Cersei and Euron, a sea battle seems like the obvious way to go. There wasn’t much of this battle showcased in the trailer, but it is definitely there and it looks like it will be big.
The first episode of this new season will debut on HBO on July 16th.
