NBC Orders Constantine, The Mysteries of Laura and More to Series
NBC added several new shows to its fall 2014-15 schedule, including Constantine, based on DC Comics’ supernatural mysteries series, and Debra Messing’s detective drama The Mysteries of Laura.

Constantine (Drama)

A to Z (Comedy)

The Mysteries of Laura (Drama)

It centers on a hard-living, sexually unapologetic woman who plays with the law and whose life on the edge is constantly in balance because she also happens to be a judge in the criminal court system.
State of Affairs centers on a key CIA attaché (Katherine Heigl) who counsels the president on high-stakes incidents around the world. She balances her intense political responsibilities with a complicated personal life. The cast also includes Adam Kaufman (Without a Trace), Sheila Vand (Cult), Cliff Chamberlain (The Mob Doctor), Tommy Savas (Hollywood Heights) and Leslie Odom, Jr. (Smash).
Allegiance revolves around the O’Connor family and their son, Alex (played by Gavin Stenhouse of the UK’s Iconicles), a decorated American war hero and CIA analyst whose parents (The Newsroom‘s Hope Davis and The Carrie Diaries‘ Scott Cohen) and sister, unbeknownst to him, are part of a dormant Russian sleeper cell that has just been reactivated. Once the parents are reluctantly pulled back in, the stakes rise as they are coerced into spying on their own son and turning him against his country. The cast also includes Margarita Levieva (Revenge), Kenneth Choi (Ironside), Annie Ilonzeh (Arrow) and Morgan Spector (Person of Interest).
Odyssey centers on three families whose lives are torn apart when a stranded female soldier (Pushing Daisies‘ Anna Friel), a disillusioned corporate attorney (Peter Facinelli, Nurse Jackie) and a disrespected political activist (Jake Robinson, The Carrie Diaries) are pulled into the same shocking international military conspiracy. The cast also includes Jim True-Frost, Treat Williams, Nate Mooney, Elena Kampouris, Daniella Pineda, Sadie Sink, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Omar Ghazaoui.
NBC’s Blacklist Due for Midseason Move, Parks and Rec MIA, DC’s Constantine on Fridays
NBC unveiled its schedule for the 2014-15 TV season, and the biggest news regarding returning shows involves a midseason move (and a post-Super Bowl showcase) for The Blacklist and a TBD premiere plan for Parks and Recreation‘s final season.
Also of note: Katherine Heigl’s CIA-themed TV comeback will lay claim to The Blacklist‘s to-be-vacated Monday time slot and Debra Messing’s The Mysteries of Laura will lead off Wednesdays.
NBC officially cancelled Believe, Community, Crisis, Dracula, Growing Up Fisher, Ironside, The Michael J. Fox Show, Revolution, Sean Saves the World and Welcome to the Family.
